It still seems like a bit of a vaporware saga with the story coming to a close in this fashion. It would be extra-torturous to look at, but I think all of us would probably like to behold what we're no longer able to get. Speaking of seeing, I wish OM would have posted some renders of the phone along with their goodbyes. I think most of the BlackBerry/PKB-loving community realized and/or was beginning to accept the OM BlackBerry wasn't going to happen, but making it official provides that additional closure that some folks have been wanting to see. I appreciate The OnwardMobility Team making this statement. The phone was originally unveiled in August 2020 for a release in the first half of. As PCMag notes, OnwardMobility said the handset would launch sometime in 2021, a window that will have passed in just under six weeks.

Thank you for all your support and we wish you all the best! U.S.-based mobile security company OnwardMobility has still not provided an update on its promised BlackBerry-branded phone. It has been a pleasure to work with all of you and hear your comments and feedback. We are incredibly grateful to the team of seasoned professionals who worked tirelessly on this project and to each and every one of our loyal fans and partners who have supported us throughout this journey. We share your disappointment in this news and assure you this is not the outcome we worked and hoped for. Please know that this was not a decision that we made lightly or in haste. However, it is with great sadness that we announce that OnwardMobility will be shutting down, and we will no longer be proceeding with the development of an ultra-secure smartphone with a physical keyboard. We want to thank you all for the tremendous amount of support that you have given us since we first launched OnwardMobility.
